At what age would you consider yourself an Older Adult?
75 respondents - difference between “older” and “old’
- 37 because I’m 36 now
- It’s great to feel younger than your age but there are people in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, that are
limited in activity due to ability issues, perhaps activities directed to those with limited or

- Mid 40’s – People need to know that the changes taking place in their bodies in their mid-
40s are part of aging and need to know how to address them
- over 45, over 65 is very old, over 90 is extremely old
- 5-+

keep me young and an excitement for life
- I am 68. I am older than I was but I don’t know when I will be OLD
- 65-70 because 65 is older than most of the population but it doesn’t mean aged. To be older
is wonderful, secure, confident, wise, free, with time to learn. It also means for me, not
giving a S__T what people think about me.
- Now that I’m 70 I feel older – also I’ve slowed down a lot; Young = fast, Old = slow
- 2 X 70 yrs when I have more time to do lots of things

issue is depression and the people who are not engaged in activities.

- 93 happy
- 2 X when I’m 95
- 99
- 102
- As a geriatrician – 105 (my oldest patient)

-Ageless, depends on the company I keep and my ability to be responsible for my choices
- When I cannot find someone older than me to hang out with
-When you have to be the mature one with your co-workers
- Older isn’t a specific age – it’s how you feel! Some are old at 50, others are young at 80
- when I get the seniors discount
- at no age, everyone stays young
- when you can pay rent, and support your self
- if you are happy you will not be old
- we must all age but we can help prevent decay with fitness and healthy eating

-all 80 yr old ins seniors facility
Eg – have some innovative programs – daycares inside seniors facilities
- NEVER!
- I would like to see more activities like Zumba Gold and water aerobics in the early pm
(12:30-2:30)
- do Zumba, you will never fell old!
- Trudeau’s 44 and still not an adult!
- more wholesome homemade foods, more vegetarian options keep fit and clean longer
- age is a state of mind
- No, we are never old!
- Everything that could be age related, is not necessarily so, so let’s not automatically
assume the elders’ aches and pains are simply aging.
- Lower seats in parks; the average North American woman is 5’3” and older people shrink
too right?
- I would like to be of elder/youth awareness. Elders activity interested in the development,
maturing of the younger generation. We have received – are receiving – many opportunities
and benefits and we can give back. It’s also a nod to the future.
- Don’t cut Sunday 2-4 badminton session, lots of adults need that
- As we age our vision diminishes and we are more prone to falls. May I ask to have grab
bars installed in the woman’s shower areas plus more seating.
- “Older” since it is a comparative adjective, it’s all related to who’s around you that’s younger.
Hah! Or if you compare to yourself yesterday, you’re older. Just try to keep strong in spirit
no matter what. Put God first in your life.
- Freedom to movement - ageless. Age for me is defined by not being able to move freely
and easily that could in 20s. Movement is freedom. Age is not defined by a number.
- Stop denying! Being “older” is something to be proud of. Embrace your age, admit you’re
old and prove it’s okay!! I love being older at 55!
- Mindfulness – Old Farts jealous of young punk
- Mindlessness – age is a state of mind until it isn’t
